Guys,

Quick question about a situation I may face later this week. I think this will work fine, but for some reason it's confusing me. This is HS baseball....I will likely DH for my catcher, but catcher is my fastest guy. If a situation calls for it, and my DH reaches base, can my catcher then run for the DH and we just lose the DH? I don't think it'll be a problem, but I just wanted to double check. Thanks

to take this to its conclusion:

DH bats in the 1st, then in the 4th. He represents an important run so you enter your catcher to run for the DH and you lose the DH position in your lineup. Your catcher comes to bat in the 6th but you may re-enter your DH to pinch hit for your catcher. The DH gets on base again. Now you may pinch run for your pinch hitter (the player who started the game as your DH). At this point the guy who started the game as your DH is out of the game and may not legally re-enter in any capacity, and your catcher has used up his re-entry and if you remove him for any reason he would not be able to re-enter again.
