My son is a HS senior and has a partial scholarship to play at a Junior College of which he likes the baseball program. He has an interest in playing baseball this summer but it seems as if every 18U team in the area is overnight traveling all summer to showcases around the country. We would rather not spend that kind of money or time traveling when he already has his sights set on the next level.
He would rather play locally if he could find something (seems to be a big if) and use our money on working with his hitting instructor/trainer and work on his fielding himself. He also would like to have some of this summer to hang with his buds before going off to college as well as work some.
Interested from those that have been here, are we missing the boat, for collage ball, if we do not participate in these showcase teams this final senior summer?
Suggestions?
