While we are on the college summer ball questions...

Have 3 summers experience with collegiate summer leagues, two very close, one far. LIfe without tanspertation was a bummer...

This year both 44's are VERY far. Want to be able to access weights, etc...anybody come up with an alternative solution other than...

...borrowing the host family car Eek..

....or begging teamates who do have trasnportation?

One can do public transportation I think, the other not.

Car Rental is minimum age 25...

Cool 44

Ours was fortunate to have host families both years who allowed him to use one of the family vehicles. When he was in Kenai, Alaska the first year, if he hadn't had a vehicle, he and his roommate would have been literally stuck in the woods. In the Cape, his family loaned him their second car to go to and from work outs etc but when he went to the field, he traveled with teammates who lived in the house next door because one of them was an East Coast kid who brought his own vehicle. I have also heard of players going together and buying a really cheap used car that got them to and from games only.
44 - I have an idea for you.

Try "rent-a-wreck" they are generally nationwide. I have used them in the past for employees. They will rent to those under 25 with the proof of insurance naming them as additional insured.

My son will be in Ohio this summer and I have found him a car for 2 months for about $800. It is cheaper than sending his car out and it eliminates the "worry" of him driving cross country.

The downside is we need to fly-in drive 2 hours to the "rent-a-wreck" location.
