I live in South Texas, New Braunfels to be exact. I seem to be in a dead zone. We have very few scouts come down here for highschool baseball. In fact my coach called a professional scout on my behalf and the scout said,"Really, I usually don't go down that far South it just doesn't produce." So my question is are there any summer teams at all besides the Austin slam that offer consistent exposure to their players.

If you are lloking for something close. check out the South Texas Sliders. They play in Premier Baseball and have State and National exposure. Check out their former players link. The Sliders will play in the College Baseball Hall of Fame tourney this summer at Texas Tech. Also, do some surfin' on fall/winter showcases at UTSA and Tx A&M Corpus Christi. They usually have a good turnout for exposure. Also, the Austin Wings...maybe?

RHP,
It sounds like you are trying to get exposure to MLB scouts, not for college?
I will have to tell you that, historically, there are plenty of scouts that come through San Antonio looking at college players.
To be honest, I would think long and hard about the need to be hooking up with a team in Austin if your effort is the MLB side of scouting.
I, and many others on this site, learned a very long time ago from bbscout, who scouted many years for the Giants and Nationals, that professional scouts are paid to find you.
If you can play and are a professional prospect, there are more than enough scouts who come to the San Antonio area on a very regular basis. They will find you if you are a prospect, you won't need to go to Austin to find them. Heck, our son played at Trinity and he had 12 scouts, 2 cross checkers and one national cross checker come to one of his games.
Check also by PM with Infield08. She is from SAT and her son is a sophomore at Dallas Baptist.
