Jeremy Hall (Jolly Roger Jr. LHP) won his 4th straight start of the season in the New York Collegiate Baseball League and has been labeled a "Inning Eater" by his coach.

Glens Falls pitching coach Jeff Keith calls starters Jeremy Hall and Brett Zamzow "inning-eaters" -- put them on the mound, and they'll be there for a while.

Case in point: Saturday's New York Collegiate Baseball League doubleheader against the Amsterdam Mohawks at East Field.

Hall went the distance in a three-hit shutout in the first game, a 3-0 victory for the Golden Eagles.

In the nightcap, Zamzow pitched most of a 2-1 victory to give Glens Falls (13-3) the sweep of the two seven-inning games.

Both Hall and Zamzow improved their records to 4-0.

"We haven't had to use our bullpen very often because those guys are inning-eaters," Keith said. "They're bullpen-savers. They can give us seven or eight quality innings every time. It would be a surprise to take them out after only a few innings. They can shorten a game for us."

Great job guys.

The Knoxville Thunder 18s are 6-2 in the Nashville 19+ wood bat league.

Soupkitchen's youngun, Harrison Eldredge, made the best catch I've ever seen (for a player not yet in college or pros). He did a full layout on a ball heading away from him in left-center. The catch helped to preserve a 1-0 victory over Scott Pettus and the River Rats. He also gunned down a runner trying to tag from 2nd to 3rd.

Six different pitchers have contributed to the wins so far.

He did give up 1 hit! Smile
Beaned 1 batter. Eek
and had three to fly or ground out. Wink

What was so bad was the pitcher for the other team only allowed us 3 or 4 hits scattered over 6 innings. They changed pitchers in the 7th inning and the 1st pitch delivered by the lefty was deposited over the left field fence in our last at bat by Thom Pratt as a walk off homer to win the game 1-0. I was beginning to wonder if anyone was ever going to score! Frown
