I have been asked to play on 2 summer teams in my area. One is a relatively well known 16u team that plays in high quality tournaments incuding WWBA 16u. The other is an unknown 18u team as far as national, even statewide recognition. This team does not play in as high of quality tournaments as the other team and has lower talent level as a team.

I would get to start every game for the 18u team, therefore getting me alot of at bats and chances in the field. The 16u team will carry 6 outfielders so I will probably start 1/2 of the games, which would mean less at bats and less chances in the field. Which team would be better for me to play for?

If it matters, they are the same price for the whole summer.

D. It really depends on what you want out of the deal. If you're looking for exposure the 16U is the better choice since they play in more exposure tourneys. Obviously the 18U team will give you more experience in the field and at the plate which can help your game. It's really all about what you want.

My opinion would be to go with the 16U team and prove you deserve to be playing every game. If you work hard you will likely be a key player for this team next summer when it counts for your exposure to the college programs. If you play on the 18s you're basically starting over next summer finding a team.
