Because there are many AAA and AA teams who are worthy of competing at that level. My son's team last year was AA and we played at the Major level for tourneys. Our record was 58-20. Not too shabby.

Why didn't your son's team just classify themselves as Major?
My sons team, the Wills Park Storm went 4-1, losing to the Spartanburg Phillies 7-6 in the quarterfinals. My son pitched against the Alabama Storm out of Mobile and won 9-3. The Alabama Storm ended up beating the the California team and the East Cobb Astros to qualify for the Elite 24. My son went 11 for 14 with two walks and 7 home runs. Not bad for a lead off hitter.
Innocent, after seeing the hitting we saw this weekend it makes you wonder how far the fences were for 11 of the hits to be dingers in Miks case, huh. I mean if we would have been on 270 ft fences I am certain of 6 I would have seen and 3 of those were by my son would have been out and I missed 6.5 of the 8 games that were played this weekend. By the way Innocent Merrick(sp?) brings the heater!!! You guys have a talented team I only got to see a couple innings altogether since my 9's were playing and sorry I didnt get to say bye I saw you going in to the dugout after your last game.
Some of the games were on 254ft and others were on 225. All but two were under 250ft. Against the Spartanburg Phillies he hit one that traveled close to 280-300ft. It came close to clearing the road in Fayetville. He just got in the grove and hit everything on the button. I don't think that will ever happen again, but I hope it does. We have another player on our team that has hit 16 HR on the year, many traveling well over 300 feet. I know he hit 5 in one tournament and we were playing on 300ft softball fields. As far as a team this weekend, we hit 14 in 5 games.
