ASU can really pitch. Mike Leake has been one of the best college pitchers for the last 3 years. Congrats to underdog #3 seed Southern Miss for getting past the Gators.
I'm just glad I'm not a betting person.

and the tournament gets NO time on Sports Center. You would think since ESPN is carrying the games they would at least mention the fact it is happening!!!!
It was ironic that the best pitching performance so far IMHO was by an Aussie Josh Spence ASU whose array of off-speed pitches allowed him to throw a CG against Clemson. I was very pleased to see it happen for the sake of all young pitchers out there who may have been considering using steroids because they can't hit 90+ on the radar gun.
My choice for CWS champions this year, ASU because of their offensive prowess, defense, and pitching. They remind me of the Fresno State team from last year. Very sc*rappy never say die.
Just as an aside of note: Notice that all the ASU players have bloused their BB pants (old Babe Ruth look), and every player has allowed his facial hair to grow (or attempt to grow) a beard. Whether it represents a declaration of unity or defiance against what seems a movement to wearing the full length pants with a ligature attachment around the bottom of the shoe, I don't know, but it certainly looks a lot better then the Mohawks worn by some teams.
