I'm new to this website. I've read severally threads. I've seen references to an athlete getting partial baseball scholarships supplemented by academic scholarships. Are these academic scholarships limited when the parents make too much money or are they based solely upon the ACT/SAT/grades Etc. ?

RedFishFool,

Welcome.   In the context of your question the answer is those academic scholarships are based on academic performance (ACT/SAT/Grades) not financial need.

There is a section of the 2014 NCAA College Bound Athlete (easy read) that explains this on page 24 under Athletically Related Financial Aid.   You can download here for free, and it will answer many questions.

Thanx. I will print it out. My son is a 2015 RHP and expressed a interest in college ball. He makes good grades at a large high school. He turned 16 a couple of months ago and hit 90 for the first time last week. He will be a junior because we didn't hold him. We will see where this future road leads. Right now , lots of info to digest!!!

RedFishFool,

Sounds like a plan.  If your son is a rising junior with very good grades and touching 90mph there could be many, many opportunities out there.  The challenge will be finding the right situation for HIM based upon his goals.

This site and others like it can be a fantastic ressource for that kind of information.  Others have been down that path, and they can give you suggestions that you may not be aware of.  Feel free to ask questions, it is the quickest way to increase your knowledge on the topic.

Good luck.
