This is playoff time for us and our team is in Game 3 of a best of 3 Sectional Championship series. We started yesterday (3rd game is as many days) and took a quick 3-0 lead. Then the weather took a turn for the worse and it got rained out. The coach wouldn't agree to change locations (despite a dry field 20 minutes away) or stay to try to get the game in after a few hours and a little work. Everyone involved knows (I know, speculation..) this is because their best pitcher (who dominated game 1) will become eligible with another day's rest. My question is why is there no rule that the eligibility of players remains the same as it was to start the game? It seems like it would maintain the integrity of the game a little more.

Hopefully this doesn't come off as whining. It really just provoked my curiosity and I couldn't really find anything in NFHS about suspended games.

Thanks.

Pitcher eligibility is governed by the state association, not by rule. If there are misgivings as to the resolution, the AD/coach of the aggrieved team would need to bring it up with the state, if allowed.
