Batter attempting to avoid a pitch riding in on him sort of "swats" at ball with the bat in his hand. It was obvious he was trying to avoid being hit but did swing bat fully around. Blue called strike. Was he correct ?
An educated man went to visit a Zen master. He wished to learn what the Zen master knew. The master invited him in for tea and listened as his visitor told of his outstanding education. As the visitor talked on and on about his long and valuable education, the Zen master began pouring more tea for the man, until his cup was overflowing and the tea was spilling onto the man and onto the floor. “Stop,” the man said, “My cup is already too full; it cannot hold anymore.” “Yes,” said the Zen Master.

I was with you on the first sentence but you lost me on the second. Are you saying that if the batter accidently hits the ball trying to avoid the pitch and hits it fair, you are still going to call it foul? I may be misreading your statemnet but if I didn't then it is incorrect. If the batter hits the ball in any manner it judged fair/foul the same as any other. Now the only exception is if he steps out of the box trying to avoid a pitch and hits the ball then don't call him out for hitting a pitch out of the box. Still judge fair/foul accordingly.
