In a high school game yesterday with runner on first. The batter tries to bunt and gets hit by the pitch, the ball rolls down the first base line a few feet and the runner at first takes off to second. My question is shouldn't this be a dead ball strike. I questioned the umpire on this and he told me a strike was never a dead ball. Am I wrong or is he?
