D'Oh 13 dad... did you look at the video?

Take this FWIW. You look like a fine young athlete. This is meant to help you not be negative.

Hitting, your hips need to fire through more and you need to get more extension out through the ball. You tend to cut across the ball somewhat and you can see that in the view behind the plate, particularly with balls away going to the opposite field. This is typical of many HS batters so you are not alone. Focusing on driving the ball to the opposite field will help you. Get some in game video also.

Fielding. Get rid of the double crow hop after you field the ball. This is a major negative in your video and I would re-film it once you stop it. This is like a “hitch” and you must work hard to get rid of it. Better and quicker footwork is needed in your throws to second. Try to over exaggerate it and film it and you will see what I am talking about.

Throw the darn ball when going to first! Get some video farther back so you can see the throws to first. Again some in game video helps.

Keep working hard and good luck!
LOL! No! My son plays there. He is a senior this year, listed as a 3rd baseman.

Excellent program, they recruit out of their camps. My son was a JUCO transfer from a Florida school not too far away. The coaches came to watch him there before offering.

UT would be tough to walk on and make the team. Tampa is a hotbed of talent. But it is not too late to be recruited. I would not settle for a walk on.

BOF, I did see the video. Apparently, by your post, I assume the year was posted. I simply did not notice. In any event, I agree with you. Needs more bottom half and better extension.
axum- The young man in this video has a very similar load position to yours, but clears his hips and extends through the ball much better. Try juxtaposing the two videos next to each other for comparison.

When he was a high school sophomore we called him "little Mikey" and he could barely hit the ball out of the infield consistently. He was drafted in the 3rd round of to 2010 draft by the Royals.
