At a recent baseball complex where HS players were playing. Crowds were rather calm. But at the nearby T-Ball game, crowds looked something out of a Jerry Springer show or s****r match.

The noise was very noticable and many college coaches said they were afraid to go near the T- Ball crowd going to their car.

as an umpire for little league/other leagues, crouds are crazy... i throuw atleast one parent out every season, along with handing out multiple warnings through out the season...

parents need to chill out till their kids get to the state tournament for highschool... then they can start yelling at blues... in my opinoin, haha
At our LL we have guys in "Yellow hats" that mingle within the confines of the facility, and everyone is aware of their presence. It sounds like cop on a beat, but, the parents know that not only do they manage the crowds, they are knowledgable to the point of being able to pull a young umpire to the side between innings and help them out. Besides that we are all first aid trained, shag balls, help coach if a team is short a coach, sell raffle tickets, answer questions, give directions, and groom fields. It's funny that that loud fan is very quiet when there is a league presence on fan side of the fence. Bottom line, the "Yellow hats" main goal is to make sure everyone has a good time and they leave the complex talking about the good things rather than ragging about the bad.
