Heard he is being called up to the show tonight! Saltalamacchia's hamstring is not doing too well, Laird is not quite 100%, which Ramirez as the only catcher on the ML roster.

Hope this is true for Taylor! Rangers are starting to win me over...

From the newspaper website:

None of this can be found on an official press release, even though the media covering the Rangers have talked to the involved parties.

Taylor Teagarden is up, and Kameron Loe has been sent down.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia is not going on the disabled list. He said he spent Wednesday in a Florida hospital with a stomach virus that caused dehydration and other, less pleasant things. He took early batting practice today, but said he was out of breath after his third swing. He will be evaluated against Sunday. He said he wanted to play tonight.

The deadline for players to be on the Team USA roster is Tuesday. Saltalamacchia should be back by then, which would allow Teagarden to go back to the minors and head to Beijing.

A move to get Hank Blalock on the roster is coming today as well.
from the DMN

The Rangers have sent down catcher Taylor Teagarden to make room for Scott Feldman on the roster.

Teagarden had mixed feelings about it, but is excited about playing in the Olympics.

Teagarden said catcher Gerald Laird is on track to return in a few days, so the club didn't feel like it was worth Teagarden missing the Olympics for three days. The plan was to send him down at some point anyway.
Taylor has a great future ahead of him in the "BIGS". I can only imagine how proud he and his parents are that he gets to represent his country on the BIGGEST sporting stage in the world...THE OLYMPICS! We should all be proud of our athletes representing OUR country.

I know from watching the game last night and listening to the announcers, that Taylor made an impression on the team and it's management. I'm sure this is not the last we've seen of him in a Rangers uniform! Big Grin
