TCL?

I heard no more Coppell and heard they sold McKinney for $300 and a set of uniforms. The league has just gone down hill since Pouge ran it. Its the bottom of the barrel. Most of the local kids have gone to DABA instead of the TCL.

it started out as a great idea.apparently management is lacking, i have fond memories of the grahmm roughnecks and traveling to see tcl games.

Is the new Wayne Pouge league starting this summer? Hof summer ball? I've heard the TCL is not even close to what used to be. It's all about trying to sell beer and tickets. What player wants to be on a bus in Texas during the summer for 3-8 hour trips??

Heard Wayne was threatened with a lawsuit if the league started up. They should hire him back to run the TCL if they dont want him to do another league. I was at the first All-star game in Graham and it was awesome. I heard the DABA All-Stars would kill the TCL all-stars today. Its really sad, it could have been awesome.

Looks like an opportunity for DBAT. They have the business sense to make it work.

Oh come on let's not make this thread about Dbat!! I want to hear more about the state of the TCL. I spoke to a scout this summer and he mentioned that scouts no longer attend those games. I was hoping to get my son on a team, are there any teams left in the DFW area?

It has nothing to do with DBAT. That was a DABA statement. The TCL, has basically tried and failed in multiple venues. It was the next Cape or, Jayhawk league, remember?

I agree with Newscout, if it had worked, it would have been awesome. To state that so and so, can make a product work, just because of a name, does not make sense. The original CEO and President, had a solid business model in 2004. They just did not foresee the lack of a fan base, in the larger market areas.

And yes, we do have a small indoor facility, and teams. We are a 501 (c)(3) Corporation

Ok got the 411 on the TCL. All teams in the DFW area have folded. McKinney folded last year but was purchased for a few hundred dollars by a local and is trying to revive the team. Hired head coach Dax Powell. The 2011 TCL champs the Coppell Copperheads have officially folded. Heard they won the championship with 13 players on the team. The Copperheads stop paying bus bill and need to fold or play the rest of the season on the road. So they picked to play the last 25 games on the road. Kids were completely worn out and started quitting. Thats the news I got.
