Alright, got a bit curious and was looking at the teams from this year’s WWBA world championship. Looks like quite a couple teams combined with “scout” teams or other organizations. How often does this happen?

The ones I am familiar with Were just some of the big orgs wearing big league unis and calling themselves “Scout teams” for Jupiter. There was no mixing of teams per se, just some branding being done. For example the Canes National and American were Met’s and Dodger scout teams but it was just the same teams in different unis.
The teams I've seen have some sort of loose affiliation. For example, one called Giants Scout Team had a Giants scout helping with coaching and seemed like helping a little with exposure. I've also seen a Mets scout team that had no affiliation to the Mets.

Yes I saw that too. I know down here in So-Cal, the scout teams don’t go to WWBA and just play Saturdays or Sundays. I guess my new question is: What’s the point of calling it a scout team in the case that there is no affiliation with a scout or the team?
Same reason a team calls itself an “elite” team when they aren’t? Get people in the program?
During the 1980's, I coached one of the 1st Scout teams in Northern California. We played on SAT. and SUNDAY against College Teams and other Scout teams.
One game against Sac City College [Jerry Weinstein] was 18 innings and "no break".
Placed on the Cubs Scout team was MLB players, including Kenny Williams now White Sox President. The Cubs scouts joined our group in the dugout at each game to evaluate our HS players ages 16-19.

Thanks for sharing Bob. The way you are describing scout ball is exactly how I imagined it from talking with others and reading old threads here.
Youngest son played for Royals Scout Team. Practiced in Kansas City at Royals facilities and were coached by scouts. Had their own trainer and woe official Royals uniforms. Royals paid for rooms and food and we provided transportation to the tournaments. Was run as a true Scout Team.
