The double standard at it's best.

What double standard?  Tebow didn't kneel during the National Anthem!

All of them are kneeling for something they believe in. Preferring one over the other is inherently a value judgement of the cause for which they're kneeling. Especially in light of the attacks all of them have received for making a statement in what some (many?) judge to be an inappropriate venue.

I'm not sure you can make a logical argument that Kaepernick and those inspired by him should be derided for making their statement while lauding Tebow for making his. The optics of the racial divide don't especially help, either.

I have no problem with Tebow kneeling...in fact I could care less if he did/does it or not.  Again, he didn't do it during the National Anthem.   I also don't have a problem with Kapernick or any other athlete kneeling, locking arms, etc, etc, etc.....but NOT during the National Anthem.  I don't care what anyone says, they are DISRESPECTING this country and the veterans who served (or lost their lives) defending American rights.....the same America that allows for those clowns to makes millions of dollars for having done nothing more with their lives than to play a game.  Kneel right before the kickoff....at the quarter break, during halftime....whatever....but not during the National Anthem.  At this point, these guys have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING toward helping their causes....whatever it may be....they have actually made the divide among two sides (their side or the other side....no matter what the issue) worse by promoting it during the anthem instead of at some other time.

Here we go...just another round of "Black people need to speak another time."

“You may well ask: 'Why direct action? Why sit-ins, marches and so forth? Isn’t negotiation a better path?' You are quite right in calling for negotiation. Indeed, this is the very purpose of direct action. Nonviolent direct action seeks to create such a crisis and foster such a tension that a community which has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue.”

I don't care if you're black, white, purple or orange with pink polka dots!!!  Stand for the national anthem or you're an idiot.....I don't care what the reason is.  You can protest all you want.....these guys (and Rapinoe)  have all week except for the minute and a half the anthem is playing during their game on Sunday to do something.....what are they doing the rest of the time to help the cause....or fix the issue???  Nothing....absolutely nothing, which renders the kneeling pointless....which makes it even worse!!

Compelled patriotism belies the very meaning of the word.

Also, with regards to purple people...

Some of them were doing things in the community before this. They are now looking for speaking situations to engage the situation. I do appreciate the Patriots players stand at attention for the anthem and raise their fists when it's over.

I will be surprised if he gets out of Extended Spring Training next year.  His "live pitching" swing is much different than his BP swing.  He won't be able to revamp it only working 3-4 days per week this fall.  I get that he loves baseball but he's not all in.

The Mets own their low A full season affiliate. Its located in Florida. It's in their best interest financially for Tebow to spend a season there and jack up attendance.

Sorry RJM, thats high A thats located in FL.

Maybe he might make the low A roster with those 7-8 years younger than himself.

Or more than likely as mentioned he will remain in extended and end up in Coney Island, ss Penn League.

Sorry, but for those thinking this is great for baseball, well yea, maybe for the Mets.

Other than that, no way.

Just saw a pic of Tebow on the nydailynews site and he has what looks to be a Baden Axe bat in his hand. Kind of weird/interesting. Perhaps there are many pros already swinging those.

He started out swinging a Dinger bat.  Axe bats are swung by Mookie Betts.

You can check out this info and other great baseball gear at @seethegear on instagram and twitter.

At the rate that the Patriots are losing QB's to injury...

Both Garoppolo and Brissett may be available by next weekend. Just in case the Patriots brought in two QB's for workouts not named Tebow. They brought in TJ Yates and Sean Renfree. Yates makes sense. He's won in the NFL. I would have thought the other option would be Ryan Lindley. He was in the Patriots camp last year.

I asked my ten year old son yesterday if he thought Tim Tebow would be able to make the major leagues, and he said "Who's Tim Tebow?"

Two falls ago another player asked my young son if he liked Justin Timberlake. My son said he did not know of him. The other guy can't believe he doesn't know who he is. My guy asks, "Does he even play baseball?" When the other guy said no. My fellow just walked away shaking his head.

So much wisdom, so early. Makes me proud to remember it.
