Temple is a Mid - Low level D1 in the heart of Philly, and I mean the heart of Philly!! The campus is a little small but nice. Nevertheless the surrounding area cancels out the school's charm with poverty and crime. If you go, STAY ON CAMPUS!!

As far as baseball, the head coach's name is Rob Valli and he's a pretty nice guy. Talked to him once or twice through e-mail and seemed to be on top of things. I don't much too much about him but I know and love the pitching coach/recruiting coordinator Chuck Ristano. He's a winner who developed pitchers well at Monmouth and will certainly do well at Temple too.

The facilities are the biggest problem from a recruiting standpoint. They play at a poor off campus facility in the Philly suburbs that takes a half hour to drive to. It's not even a nice enough field to make up for the drive.

Hope that helps!
My 18U team played at Temple's Ambler facility twice last Fall. It's not designed for spectators, but many D1s only get 50-100 fans anyway. Field was well-maintained.

Off-topic, but the St. Joe's situation is temporary. HC told me they have a couple of hurdles remaining, but should break ground on a new facility at the former Episcopal Academy campus, which should be ready in 2012. In the interim, they have a great situation at the park in Camden.
