We know Brandon Knapp-LHP from Amarillo playing with Coppell. Though much older, he attended the same school as my son and his dad & I coached youth ball together. B.K. was dominant in high school before successful two years at Midland Junior College & then NC State. I saw that he was named to and threw in the TCL All-Star game. He continues to be a great role model for my son.

We also are familiar with:
Jacob Ramos from Midland & Lubbock Christian Univ.
Kurt Pessa, from Lubbock & Rice Univ.
Dane Carter, from Graham & Vernon College (Burkburnett Blacksox, summer 2004)
Highland Park's
Max Simon from Pampa (high school district opponent) & Clarendon College.
Greg Erickson from Crowley & Abilene's McMurray Univ (HSU opponent).
Travis Reagan from Lubbock (summer league opponent) & Rice Univ.

What a great summer opportunity for those selected.
FBMom is right (as usual). My son is playing in the Texas Collegiate League this summer and is having a great time. While he did not make the all-stars Frown and his team, the Highland Park Blue Sox, have struggled, the experience has been terrific for him. As the only player from his school in the league, he has had a chance to meet a lot of people from different schools and backgrounds and is hopefully helping to help dispel some of the myths about California, dude... Big Grin. From my vantage point, I have found the level of play to be quite good overall and a couple of the teams (in particular the one from Coppell), are very impressive. One criticism I do have is that I think the umpires all need to do a better job calling the low inside corners, particularly when a certain pitcher is on the mound Eek... Heading out Friday AM to catch the final three games of the regular season. Can't wait!
