DIII baseball in Texas is terrific, and getting better each year. Most of these schools have been playing DIII baseball only since the mid 90's and UT Tyler/Dallas after that. In the West Region, between Trinity and Southwestern in the SCAC and UT Tyler, TLU, UT Dallas, McMurry and others in the ASC, there is a good chance that 2 teams will always make the regional and it is just a matter of time before there are Texas teams competing for the DIII World Series on a regular basis.
The fact that there are numerous players getting drafted is a good indication of the talent level.
I know Trinity places a lot of players in the top summer wood bat leagues. Just this year, one pitcher was in the Texas Collegiate All Star game and another in the New England Collegiate All Star game.
The other somewhat overlooked aspect is the level of coaching at many schools. All of the teams mentioned have guys who certainly could be doing just fine in many DI programs. Great baseball guys and great with their players too.
Texas DIII baseball is near the top levels and should only continue to get better.

DIII is an NCAA classification for colleges and universities which do not offer scholarships but support intercollegiate athletics as an important element of the college experience. Based on the NCAA by laws/governing laws, a DIII institution cannot offer scholarships or aid based on athletic ability.
