Please let me take a few moments to thank each and everyone of you Texans who have opened up their homes and hearts for our Southern citizens.

What your governor is doing is simply amazing and while I know every state in the nation is doing something, Texas has gone above and beyond.

God Bless you, your state and your Governor.

and again THANKS!!!!

Justmom,

Thank you for the nice post.

Katrina is one major, ongoing tragedy and we in Texas know that if the same thing happened here that someone/some state would be there for us.

Food, shelter, medical and eduational needs are trying to be met for these poor displaced people and it will and is taking a LOT of organizations (Salvation Army, Red Cross, Texas Education Agency, many different church's, state government agencies, et al) to meet those needs...

Big State and Big Hearts.

"You can sure tell Rick Perry is up for Election in 2006 can't you?"

Well anyway, I was involved in for 24 straight hours of helping the incredible amount of unloading this buses in the Astrodome and Reliant Arena and I tell you what its beyond comphrension the Hell these people have been through. Astrodome was the mayor's offer by the way not Perry. I am still pissed about what Perry did to the education budget so you don't think this a political thing.

I am extremely proud of Texas to take these people in. who cares if they are from the hard knocks of life.

From the trenches.

P.S God Bless all that are helping in the three states of disaster it takes a very special person.
