Texas STIX?

I have had a couple of our players here play for the Stix. Now, they are not the Dallas Tigers, but if the kids are playing good competition and getting at bats, and innings, and getting better, then isn't that the idea behind playing 50-80 games during the summer?

FD -- YES! and no. As you know, there might be a few other priorities in the summer, other than at bats, innings, and improvement -- although those things are certainly key ingredients to all baseball.

Well, I guess making sure that when you pay your money to play, that you will be playing in tournaments that have a high amount of exposure with college coaches and pro scouts. To me, that would be important. But the only way to get better is to play. The better the competition the better you'll be. You will be forced to raise your game or the game will leave you behind. This is a sad reality that everyone that plays baseball will face eventually.

If you are good enough to play at the next level, you will. Now it may not be the place you always dreamed of, but then again, how bad do you want to play?

And summer baseball at the 18U level is certainly the time to adjust expectations regarding playing in college....good point.
