Rumor is that a big time coaching staff is being put together out in Lubbock. With Tim tadlock being named head coach, possible asst. look to be former osu Greg evans and Howard coach jay bob with frank Anderson becoming volunteer asst and pitching coach. Outside chance the PC is skip Johnson.

That will be a very formidable staff if rumors are true and will add another great college program in the state of Texas for our kids to attend. Bout time.

FYI some Tadlock bio info
Head Baseball Coach for Texas Tech University.

After a prep career at Denton High School and two years at Hill College, Tadlock was a two-year starting shortstop for the Red Raiders while helping Texas Tech to its first-ever 40-win season as a senior in 1991 (42-18).

During his coaching years, Tadlock has spent time at Hill College, Grayson County College (where he won two back-to-back NJCAA JUCO World Series titles in 1999 and 2000), and the University of Oklahoma before heading to Lubbock.
Some quotes about Tech hiring Tim Tadlock as new head coach.

QUOTES
Augie Garrido - Texas Head Baseball Coach
"That is a smart move by Texas Tech. I think in a very short period of time he will bring back the glory days at Texas Tech. He is certainly one of the best recruiters in the country. He is a tireless worker and is very committed to the game of baseball and respects the game of baseball to the level that will allow that program to be a championship program in a short period of time. That hire is a very smart move by Texas Tech, a very smart move."
Rob Childress - Texas A&M Head Baseball Coach
"Tim is one of the great young coaches in the country. He has a proven track record for the last 15 years while winning at a very high level in junior college and at Oklahoma. I totally expect the same things in a short period of time at Texas Tech. He is an excellent recruiter. He is going to do great things for Texas Tech baseball."

Jim Schlossnagle - TCU Head Baseball Coach
"Tim has worked diligently throughout every level of college baseball to earn this opportunity. I'm sure that he will represent Texas Tech successfully on the field and with the highest amount of class and integrity in the community."

John Lackey - RHP Boston Red Sox (Played for Tadlock in 1999 at Grayson College)
"I think that is an awesome hire for Texas Tech. He is a quality baseball man. He is all about baseball. He is a player's coach. He is very easy to talk to. He does a great job conveying his message to his players and getting across to his players what he expects and what he wants done. He is easy to play for as long as you play hard. He never got too fired up unless he wasn't seeing the effort from his players that he expected. I think his players always appreciated that. This is a great hire also because of his ability to recruit. He can really recruit. Guys like him, players are drawn to him. I think he will do a great job at Texas Tech."

Mark Lummus - Seattle Mariners Professional Scout
"I have known Tim for a long time. He is a dynamite recruiter. He is a super game-manager. He is a good motivator. I think he is one of the best coaches out there, his record speaks for itself. I don't think you could hire a better guy. He is a star in the making. That is a great hire for Texas Tech."

Gerald Turner - Atlanta Braves Professional Scout
"I think you guys got a real steal. This guy knows what he is doing. He is a great recruiter. There will be some very good players who will go to Texas Tech because of Tim Tadlock. He has a great network and has a lot of friends in the game of baseball. One thing Tim always did when he was head coach at Grayson (College) was play very good competition. He didn't try and build his record by playing people who were weak. He wasn't afraid to play the big boys. He has always had good players and he has competed with the best of them. He had good players because he recruited well and they went there because of Tim Tadlock."

Ray Crone, Jr. - Detroit Tigers National Scouting Director
"I think that is a great hire. I have known Tim a long time. He has a lot of success in the state of Texas. I think he will do a great job at Texas Tech. First of all, he is a great guy. He has done a great job recruiting and gets a lot of good kids and baseball players. When you draft one of his players that he has recruited and worked with they usually go out and have success."

Worth noting tech had 9 players drafted in 2012, second most to Arizona state and school record.

LUBBOCK — Denton graduate Tim Tadlock has thrived at all levels of baseball as a player and a coach. That history is one he hopes to build on as the head coach at Texas Tech.
Tadlock was introduced as the Red Raiders’ new coach Friday during a news conference at Rip Griffin Park by Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt. Tadlock was named interim head coach May 21 following the firing of former head coach Dan Spencer.
“I am very excited to announce Tim Tadlock as Texas Tech’s new baseball coach,” Hocutt said in a statement. “Tim has prepared himself for this tremendous opportunity and honor to lead our baseball program. As one of the nation’s most respected recruiters and coaches, he has demonstrated the ability to attract, teach and win at the highest level. There are great days ahead for Texas Tech baseball.”
Tadlock was a two-time all-district player for Denton. He played two years at Hill College before heading to Texas Tech, where he was the starting shortstop for two seasons before graduating in 1992. He went back to Hill College as an assistant coach for four years before being named the head coach at Grayson County College.
During his time at Grayson, the Vikings won five conference championships as well as back-to-back NJCAA titles in 1999 and 2000. In nine seasons, the team went 435-127 for a .774 winning percentage under his leadership.
In 2006, Tadlock left Grayson to become an assistant at Oklahoma. Following the 2011 season, Tadlock returned to Lubbock as associate head coach for the Red Raiders.
“I am very proud and honored to have been given this great opportunity to lead the Texas Tech baseball program,” Tadlock said in a statement. “I appreciate the commitment that the Texas Tech administration has given to me. We will honor the legacy at Texas Tech and we are looking forward to hitting the ground running.”
The problem with Spencer was he, for the most part, ignored the state of Texas when recruiting. He spent way too much time and effort trying to bring recruits in from the northwest, while basically conceding Texas to all other schools. There is way too much talent in the state for Tech to not try to be a bigger player at home. Being a Big 12 school, with a newly renovated stadium, there is no reason why they shouldn’t compete for NCAA tournament spots every year. I do not know if Tadlock is the answer, but consistently finishing towards the bottom of the Big 12 is unacceptable. Let’s hope the focus has been shifted back to Texas.
