Just wanted to thank everyone on this site for the years of knowledge and information. It’s been extremely helpful. I started asking questions when my now 23 yo was playing. Sadly, we had no clue with him, listened to coaches and he can’t straighten his throwing arm still today. We learned from our mistakes and big brother has been little brother’s biggest fan.
After a rollercoaster of a ride my son, a 2025, was over the recruiting process and wanted to be “done”. I guess some kids enjoy it but he’s not one of them. It’s crazy to look back on the highs/lows of everything…yet it all worked out. The saying I’ve heard and read over and over “go where you’re wanted and you will know” were spot on.
He had three top schools going into the summer. One experienced a complete staff change and the other two experienced a pitching coach change after last season. Two of the three wanted him to wait until the spring but he was “done”. We made several trips to the third school and each time he loved it more and more.
I will say, God has a sense of humor. After years of supporting and being season ticket holders to one in-state school, our son is headed to the in-state rival. We couldn’t be prouder but know the work has just begun.
They’ve given him a nutrition plan and are in constant communication with the gym where he works out.
I always knew he had the drive to play at the next level but reading about the percentages for years, the odds were stacked against him….especially to a Power 5.
Now to enjoy two more seasons of HS ball and one last summer of travel (they want him on campus the summer after graduation).
Again, thank you all!!!
