It's not that Vasgersian and Karros are any good. It's just Buck and McCarver have worn out their welcome.

Announcers I can do without:

Joe Buck
Tim McCarver
Brent Musburger
Dan Dierdorf
Joe Theisman
Hubie Brown
any sideline reporter in any sport except Erin Andrews

My favorite announcer is Marv Albert .... "From downtown! Yessssssssss!"

Throw in the Madison Square Garden keyboard player and the Knicks fans yelling DEE-FENSE as the Celtics bring up the ball and you have basketball nirvana.

The best game analyst I've ever heard was Joe Torre doing Angels games. He's the only baseball announcer I actually learned something about the game.

The best "spot" this weekend was Ryan Dempster's imitation of Harry Carey. And just like when Carey announced they missed an at bat.

It's interesting you say this. I lived in southern California for twenty-two years. I watched a lot of Dodgers games on tv. I thought the guy never shut up. He threw so much information at the audience (not all relevant) I joked he would tell you what the pitcher's sister hit against lefties in her adult softball league. Maybe it was because he was doing a simulcast with the radio and had to fill dead air that doesn't occur on tv since there's a view.
