As I have watched today's events, I just wanted to stop and think about what Mr. Robinson went through and did for us all. I am so grateful. I am grateful as a coach that I see young African-Americans play and watch the game with pride. I am thankful as a fan that I have the opportunity to see so many wonderful players that I would otherwise never see. I am thankful as a member of society who wants to see all that work hard, achieve regardless of their color. Thank you to the Robinson family for sharing Jackie with all of us. He has made not just the game of baseball better, but all of society better because of his effort.

The man had incredible fortitude, courage, and respect for the game. He changed baseball for the better and more importantly made America a stronger place by helping break down the walls of prejudice. Also, credit Branch Ricky for his foresight and courage to give this man a chance.
