What do you suppose the Catholic 7 move from the Big East to the New Big East will mean for baseball at those schools? By my count, only 4 of those 7 currently even have baseball teams. How can they drop from a 12 team to a 4 team conference? I’ve read that Butler and Xavier may join them. Those schools both have baseball, so I guess that would help.

Interesting question...do the baseball schools play in another conference like the A10? More likely the additional schools like Butler, Dayton, Xavier, etc. will round out the league for baseball. Does the new league champion get an automatic slot in the NCAA tournament?
The competition level will be a big step-down for St Johns who'll most likely dominate the conference.
In all fairness, besides Louisville and Notre Dame (and SJ), the Big East is not very strong this year.
Creighton has a fairly decent team if they join as well. I hate to see them leave the Missouri Valley, quality conference.
