The Citadel??

Don't know anything about the school except what you wrote, but one of 2B's teammates on his travel team just committed to play there. He is a 2009 catcher.

They always field a very good team.

Fred Jordan is a very good coach and does a great job of targeted recruiting in spite of the difficulties that can come with convincing kids to come to a more structured military environment. The facility is first-rate, shared with the minor league team, and the Bulldogs are always very competitive in a solid Southern Conference. They also have a fair share of drafted players. It's in downtown Charleston, which is a great location. But you have to be sure you want the military environment. I've known a few players who loved the baseball program but weren't as sold on the school.

A few years ago they were ranked 30th in the Nation by one poll.

Re: The military environment---when my son was recruited by The Citadel a few years back they impressed upon him that it was not really 24/7 military such as the Point---I do not know if it is still the same

TR -- I believe the coaches do try to soft-sell the military aspect in order to convince kids to come. But it can be all-encompassing, especially for freshmen. Athletes may not have it quite as tough as the typical cadet, and if they survive the culture shock of the freshman year, they usually make it.
