Embracing these concepts is easier said than done for most people. The sooner they do, though, the sooner they can benefit from them. This is true for most people in all aspects of life but is especially true for athletes.
A few that caught my attention are :
- mindset is different
- process oriented
- value consistency
- understanding good outcomes and probabilities
- 2nd level thinking
- Accountability for their actions/ responsibilities
Being able to understand and take advantage of these concepts can be a real differentiator for an athlete. These are a few of the traits that allow “the grind” to have a purpose behind it.
