Last night my soon-to-be five year-old had his first t-ball practice. The fun part for me was that after fifteen years of managing 18U teams I finally got to be just a dad sitting in the stands. No colleges, no pro scouts, just a bunch of little kids running around trying to grasp the great game of baseball.

I must say that I now have the upmost respect for t-ball coaches..... Smile

Congratulations and look out, because before you turn around, that sweet little soon-to-be 5yo will be the 18yo you're all too familiar with. Enjoy!

lol...it's a little early for a personal instructor but I'm fortunate enough to know plenty of great ones. For now he's stuck with dear old dad...... Big Grin

At our first team meeting it was kind of surreal to hear some of the parents balking at the $140 player fee not to mention these people have no idea of what a DBAT, Mustang or Tiger is. Wait until they start reading this site!
T-Ball days were the bestest!
Enjoy every second of it.

I have to tell you one funny T-Ball tale.
Son's team was up at bat and one of the boys was doing the potty dance and told the coach he had to go. Coach said, "You're up. You can go after you hit."
Boy nodded bravely, grabbed his bat and proceeded to slam the ball on his first swing with the best hit of his life to date. The ball sailed into center field. He tore down the first baseline as everyone cheered...and then kept running into foul territory along the fence and through the gate into the YMCA building!
He never looked back.
What a hoot!
