Well, today the baseball season formally starts. So it is my son's last first day of high school practice.

To be followed by his last first HS game of the season, his last first at-bat, and eventually his last HS game and last HS at-bat.

One thing I have always been grateful for on this site is the regular reminders to enjoy the moment of the journey and not get caught up in looking ahead. I will say I think I have been successful heeding this advice.

I can count the number of games I have missed on one hand. I got to spend countless hours with my son driving to and from games, post mortems, trips to camps and showcases, etc. I've loved it all, and the whole way I realized how lucky I was to be in my son's life is such a way, with something we both enjoy so much.

So I don't really look back and think "I wish I had spent more time enjoying the moments." I heeded the advice of the folks on this board. I smelled the roses. I didn't look ahead.

But I STILL don't really want it to end!
