IM sure many of you have seen that George Mitchell has released his report on who has been linked to steroid usage. I believe that it was a tough thing to swallow for me at least when I read some of the names on the list (Roger Clemens, Andy Pettite, Miguel Tejada, Gary Matthews Jr., etc.) And I know that steroids are being used in the MLB but to see so many admired players on that list just made me a little hurt inside, for the game of baseball.

That how I feel about it any other thoughts?

This hurt a lot to many sports fans. I feel that it was necessary, despite how hard it is to swallow. I was really only surprised by a few people on the list. That being said, I was really hoping that Shef, Matthews Jr., Clemens, and Pettite were not on the list. Obviously I didn't want to see anyone's name on the list, but those are some of the players that I have truly enjoyed watching. However, the only name that would have crushed me (of those rumored to have juiced) is Albert Pujols.
I have to say that the list of names is really quite shocking. I will also say though that I commend Andy Petite for owning up to his actions. A pithcer at his age, he probably felt that steroids were his only option to keep playing. I am, however, very dissapointed in Roger Clemens. Since the report, we haven't heard a word from him. I always though that Roger would be a man who would admit when he was wrong. I thought he was a man of tremendous character, even though he could be a little (well actually very) volitle at times (ie the whole bat throwing incident). I guess I wrong wrong in thinking this.

I was happy though to see some of the big homerun hitters not on the list (Pujols, A-rod, Ryan Howard, etc...). It is nice to know that some of the best players of our time aren't on the juice. It just goes to show that you can be a fantastic player without steroids, and that is what drives me. I have made an oath to myself that if the decision comes to doing steroids or to quit baseball, I will quit.

Just my thoughts,

Now Clemens and his former trainer, Brian McNamee, have to testify in front of congress. I am curious to see what each one of them says. Clemens has been insisting that he wasn't injected with Performance enhacing drugs when his trainer has has been saying that he DID inject Clemens. It doesn't make sense how they could be saying opposite things. We will see which one has been lying or they will keep saying the same thing and one will end up with purgery as did Barry Bonds a few weeks ago.
