Son just verbally committed to a top DII school in the midwest. Its been a long road for him for the past three years, from overcoming injury his senior year of high school, surgery and rehab, then redshirt his freshman year and playing one year at a great CC in the Phx area. Lots of hard work at baseball and even harder work in the classroom got him a full tuition/books scholly.

Pretty proud poppa of his efforts! For you dads and boys heading down this road, the hardest work that needs to be done is in the classroom. The majority of the money was definitely due to his academics, baseball helped, but its the book time that he puts in that earned him this opportunity.

The information and support we've received from this site has been invaluable. When I first saw the website I had no idea how important and fortunate stumbling on this site would be for my son and our family. Please accept my humble thanks and know from the bottom of our hearts that you have helped us navigate what at times is a labyrinth of information.

So, its on to the next chapter. Good luck to those still in the hunt and those making preparations for the next levels. Its worth it!

Best of luck to your son.

I am glad that you mentioned what you did about grades. It is SO very important.

In the end everything works out.

I know some of us can be rough on others at times, mostly good comes out of some tough love and mostly good comes out of tough decisions that result from sitting down and understanding how things work and being realistic in how we achieve those goals.
