Okay - I'm a baseball loving Mom and I did like For the Love of the Game. My favorite part, though, is when he is on the mound and is able to focus in and block out everything except himself and the catcher...

BTW, my second favorite part is at the end when the pitcher is injured and can't control his focus, and his team-mates step up and support the team. That is what baseball is all about, IMHO.
In my opinion For Love of the Game is a great baseball movie. A glimpse into the human side of a player - not just a "chick flick". Professional athletes struggle with day to day life as we all do. Some of the best parts of this movie wound up on the cutting room floor.

I was lucky enough to have worked on the World Premier. Got a chance to hang a little with Costner and Augie Garrido as well as score some cool memorabilia. Attending the premier was also a birthday gift for my son who turned 12 at the time.
