Can I please have their 1st glove, or their game glove, when they precieve it is time to go? Please!?!
I'm sure it is still in great shape. Baseball superstitions at its extreme.

Thanks for sharing HaverDad. I'll confess to sleeping with a few gloves
Like Radar O'Reilly, were you hoping to do better?quote:Originally posted by 3rdgenerationnation:

I still mourn my original A2000, had it from age 13 until 40 when I accidentally left it in my ball bucket after our end of season team picnic in which it rained. A couple weeks later I opened the bucket and found an unfortunate science experiment, a moldy glove, ruined!
Replaced it with a new A2000 immediately, which is only the third glove I've had in my lifetime and I expect to be buried with.
Love the glove!!

I'm suddenly reminded of Mazerowski's, old school glove mojo.
Arguably the best second baseman of the post-WWII era, Maz played his entire HOF career with the same tiny taped and stapled glove. (and for the same team)

HaverDad, my dad used a glove like that. Good thing I'm left-handed, or I would have used it, too. I got a brand new one, instead.
I just had my catchers mitt through HS and a 12" Bobby Grich Rawlings basketweave.
My son never met a glove he didn't like. He carries no less than 5 with him to games and practices. C, 1b, OF, 11.75 IF for short & 3rd, 11.5 for 2nd, and sometimes a 12" for pitching if he knows he is going to start. He actually can play all 9 at a high level, so I can't really complain.

My son has a love affair with his Pro Preferred 12 inch that he uses constantly. I have told him repeatedly that it is the wrong size for 2b and SS but he doesn't care, it is comfortable for him and he won't use any other glove under any circumstance, even a 11.5 of the same type. He hasn't made an error this year so I go along with his superstition.
