This is pretty cool. We are going down to Florida for a few days this weekend. My son has been throwing on schedule for a few weeks and didn't want to miss his bullpen this weekend. I posted in the Florida Forum (and here)that we needed a catcher and lo and behold we have a few kids who want to do it....are even eager to do so, petty darned close to where we are going.

Who says this is a waste of time?

Sorry sir, i didn't mean to offend you (?). I was trying to pay your son a compliment because i assumed you were going down for vacation and i thought it was very dedicated that your son didnt want to miss a bullpen (i'm a pitcher and i know i wouldnt throw if i went on vacation). Again, sorry for upsetting you.
P.S.- I would love to have a rematch against Barrington. I believe the rest of my team does as well.
I've been to several camps in the past. All have been different. Remember going to the Twin's camp early one year and it was very easy to not only be there but to be up close....same with the Reds....Griffey Jr.'s first year there we were able to go early as well. Didn't have the same luck with the Yankees .....

It is more fun for me to go to the camps rather than the games. I remember Tom Kelly of the Twins being very freindly with the fans.....we were leaning on the fence just like you would at a HS game.
I always enjoy the camps more than the games as the players are very accesible during the camps. I have just sat there watching glavine maddox and those guys doing mirror drills and balance drills and then they talked with the kids that were wacthing as they headed to the workout rooms ect. It is great for your kids to see these high level guys doing the same workouts and drills that many good coaches are saking them to do now at there age. It seems to rally motivate them to keep on working.
