Have you guys/gals noticed how many of these World Series/LCS umpires are there for the first time, and how good they are? I certainly have and I'm guessing this is coming from MLB/Joe Torre's office in how MLB umpires are rated. It looks like umpires who make the World Series, and LCS are doing so on merit, not longevity or who they are in the Union. Cudos to MLB. If this is Bud's last act as commissioner then good for him. They got something right.

I bet right now the Royals are hoping for the Ghost of Don Denkinger to show up
