It seemed like yesterday when I dropped them off at NAPS last July. The transformation from boy to young man is nearly complete and the journey from young man to officer is just beginning. This past year has been so challenging for them physically, academically and mentally in ways most people can't imagine. I have gained a new level of respect for my sons and their classmates, 333 began in July...257 received appointments in May.
They walk taller with more purpose, they stand straighter with more authority. I watched the confidence they exuded while they introducing me to their superior officers. At dinner I was impressed by the way my sons stood an waited for all the ladies at the table to be seated before they sat down.
This is just a small step in their path to reaching their final goal...but I am still so proud of them.
