LadyNMom ...
I am going to try and get this answered for the 3rd time ... I have accidentally deleted 3 attempts at responding
and have bumped my touch pad every time and wiped it out ... oh to be young and nimble-fingered again
Okay, here goes ... last night I started a thread in the Men's Room (I don't call it a lounge because I can't imagine that it would be somewhere any of us would want to spend time in there 'lounging around') and explained that several posters, including one of their own, had said they thought it was okay to post it there. I gave them the link and suggested they might want to use it as a theme song for their forum. When I started to read this thread today, I checked and discovered that my thread in the men's room had been deleted.
I contacted Julie, who didn't delete it, and can only figure that one of two things happened: one of the forum moderators (there are just a few according to Julie) felt a response was inappropriate
and deleted the whole thread (rather than just the inappropriate response)
OR (and I would hate to think this was what happened) a moderator with very thin skin decided to take it upon himself to delete the entire thread because he was offended
I have noticed that there are no threads in there that have been started by any women except for Julie ... do you think one of these guys believes a lady shouldn't be allowed to start a thread in "their room"? If that is the case, should we bar them from starting threads in "our" forum?
I don't think that would be appropriate at all, and would hope that they wouldn't censor threads because of the originating poster's gender. After all, we have seen some threads in this forum that have been highjacked by guys and we didn't censor the whole thread, just let the guy know we thought they were out of line.
I hope the moderator who deleted my thread comes to me directly and owns up to what they did and why they did it ...
