LOL!

He's into it, isn't he?! ...and how about the band?!

After all that, a weak grounder...and then he "sails" into the dugout from 1st base!

By the way, they have a custom there of blowing a whistle when an unplayable foul ball is hit toward the stands. The first time this American fan heard it, I thought it was the craziest thing I'd ever heard at a ballgame. By the time I'd seen half-a-dozen games, it began to make sense from a crowd-safety perspective.

They have peanuts...and in that fastidious society, where little old ladies can be seen sweeping the city sidewalks...they give you a separate bag to put your empty shells in. As neat as it might have been, somehow it just didn't feel right at the ballpark.

Nevertheless, "when in Kumamoto;" so, I respectfully deposited each empty shell in its appointed bag and dropped it in the trash can on my way out. No one was going to accuse me of being an "Ugly {or Messy} American!"

They talked about this on Baseball Tonight last night.  Rick Sutcliff was asked how he would've responded if a batter had done this while he was pitching, and without hesitation, he said something along the lines of drilling him in the earhole.

My two thoughts were, (a) that kid's in high school?  He looks like he's maybe 14; and (b) whatever happened to that kid from Coastal Carolina who made the rounds on the internet a few years ago?
