August 7 Commitment Update

LSU got a football/baseball commitment from one of the top two-sport athletes in the region recently when Kerrville Tivy's Kyle Prater said he would be a Tiger. Kyle picked LSU after considering offers from Oklahoma and Nebraska to play both sports. He was recruited by several top programs nationally, both as a talented outfielder with some pop in his bat and a bone-crushing linebacker.
Meanwhile, Rice got another top Houston-area player to verbally commit recently when Houston Westside LHP/OF Taylor Wall said he would be an Owl. Taylor has been a fixture in Greater Houston since he was a freshman and has been a centerpiece for the surging program at Westside. He threw well at the recent Texas Scouts Association All-Star Game, and he also shows a lot of athleticism with some pop at the plate as a position player.
TCU got an impressive pledge from Houston as well in Katy Taylor IF Taylor Featherston. I have seen Taylor a couple of times this summer, and he is an exceptional defensive middle infielder with great feet, soft hands and a lot of arm. Lots of projection physically. He centers the ball well as a hitter, and he can run. Good-looking player.
