Would a player really post this, using his school's name in the subject line? Or was it perhaps posted by a competitor to try and discredit or rattle the kid? Weird.

This looks like a setup to me. I am not naive enough to believe someone is dumb enough to post as a Villinova baseball player. They could have asked for the same information and easily kept their identity secret as their actual identity had nothing to do with the question at hand.

Perhaps this is a teammate who has seen something and is trying to bring it into the light. Whatever the reason, I don't believe that the person who posted that question actually cares about the answer. They care about the inferences imho.

Don't ever underestimate the stupidity of the average teenager. He may be 21 but for all intents and purposes he isn't any different than the average teen. He might have not thought that anyone important would find out about his quest.

You see it all the time with young men, they honestly don't think they will get caught or that consequences happen to them. That is why they don't use condoms, drink and drive, or engage in really risky behavior. Going to a message board and thinking that using his 'persona' would keep him obscure enough to not get caught isn't beyond the realm of believability with me.

I deal with 18-24 year old soldiers all the time, you wouldn't believe the capability for doing stupid things that some of these young bucks have.
