Multi-Part 'How Do I Score It Question':
In all three of the following scenerios, a thrown bat warning was already given, and in the subsequent thrown bat struck the umpire (would that make a difference?).
Scenerio #1
Batter hits into the gap...throws bat...reaches 2nd safely. It's my understanding he is credited with a double, but after the ball is dead he is called out. Is that Interference?
Scenerio #2
Runners on base...Batter hits into a deep corner (throws bat) for an in-the-park HR. An (unsure) ump told me that he would likely call it this way: baserunners are safe at home. After the play is dead...batter would be sent back to 3rd and called out. He is credited with a triple (not a home run).
Is this correct?
Scenerio #3
No runners on base. Batter clears the fence in dead center (throws bat). That same Ump told me he would immediately call a dead ball and batter is out.
Is that correct?
Scenerio #1 actually occurred. #2 & #3 were hypotheticals.
Thanks,
Randy
