What's a good percentage for throw outs?
I didn't know if scouts do look at those percentages, as there are a lot of factors that go with throwing a runner out.

They won't look at percentages but they will look at the pop time. If he's 2.2 or better they will like him but 2.2 is about as high as it can go. If they are at a 2.2 they better be doing the other things very well.

That's sounds pretty darn good. The rough MLB average is around 2.0.

A good % is around 30%. Excellent is 35+%.
Keep in mind, that is also a function of how well your pitchers control the running game as well.

Some younger pitchers still sometimes haven't been taught that to give a catcher a chance, they have to get the ball to the plate quicker.

I would say that 30-40% is good. In college every year there are some catchers who throw out more than 50% which is exceptional!
I would agree with the other statements that college coaches and scouts aren't looking at your %, they're looking more at your pop time. HOWEVER, your current coach will be worried about the %...if that % gets too low then you won't be playing ver much and no scouts will get to see you play!
