Practice throwing the bat at a cone near first base. I don't believe, however, that you use both hands to throw the barrel, only the top. IMO, the bottom hand is the lever and guide only. The only time I would throw both hands would be to hit a pitch with two strikes to foul it off or on a hit and run to make contact on a pitch out of the zone.

He is trying to tell you to keep your hands inside the ball. Throwing the hands mean to swing like if you were going to hit the ball with your hands and not with the bat. He wants you to trust your hands, if you have good eye-hands coordination and you throw the hands to the pitch, you are going to have lot of good swings with more good contact.

i've learned for the inside pitch, you moreless pull your hands to the ball. because if you simple throw them at the ball you end up being way out in front or waving at the pitch. when you pull them you are able to get the bat through the zone and get good wood on the inside pitch. as for middle and outside pitches, throwing your hands is key,, because you need to trust your hands when your hitting.
