Are there any tricks to making good, quick throws when the ball is wet and slippery?

Another thread on this forum mentioned using stick-um. Is stick-um or other like foreign substances legal for fielders? What else can fielders do to keep their throws direct and on line to their target when they can not get their normal solid grip to throw the ball?

We got a saying that we use when the field is wet

"How do you throw a wet ball? Same as a dry one"

Reason why we do that is we're trying to take the focus away from thinking too much when making a play. Plus there is truth to it. If you want to make a strong solid throw you get the fingers behind the ball. Doesn't matter if it's wet or dry.

I'm not a big fan of making things complicated when they don't need be.

Welcome to the HSBBW DT2. Having been born and raised in Tillamook (100"+ rainfall annually) I know something about 'wet'.

Concerning your question...
"Are there any tricks to making good, quick throws when the ball is wet and slippery?"

If you can get everyone to agree to it have those soaking wet, sloppy games played with this...

It takes a little getting used to, but after awhile the ball, when thrown, seldom ends up over the backstop or in the dug out. And they're easy to dry out...just hang 'em from a hook anywhere in the dug out. Necessity truly is the mother of invention.
