Looks like Beavs got a lot to prove, they arent backing down.
I didn't see OSU play a lot because they're a west coast team but I knew that you don't lose only four games unless you're legit. I don't care what conference you play in - that's impressive!
Whether they win the whole thing or not, OSU is a damn good team.
OSU they are super special in my opinion. Ive watched them a lot and 1-9 at the plate solid. Defense, offense. Pitching. They are really good. All the teams are good but OSU in my opinion are like a magic season. I think they win it.

As much as I would love to see Florida vs OSU, I am thinking Louisville vs OSU.
Louisville and OSU be fun to watch. I like both of those teams.

I don't think Oregon St. has anything to prove to anyone, in terms of being one of the elite programs in college baseball and one of the very best in Omaha. I say that realizing those in the ACC and SEC think college baseball ends at the Mississippi.... or maybe College Station, TX. 
I have also seen LSU play a lot this year and they have a few seniors who came back just to win a 'ship.
Again, I don't know if they'll win but they won't go down without a knockdown dragout.

Yes, Oregon State has two national titles in the not-too-distant past (2006 & 2007) and they were the no. 1 national seed heading into this tournament. Whether they'll win or not, who knows, but I don't why they would have a lot to prove -- or any more to prove than any of the other teams.

For anyone who has a son who is signed, verballed or hopes to play college baseball, Oregon State, in my view, is a must watch. They play such a precise game, almost never make a mental mistake and don't beat themselves.
They may not have the best 9 or 35. They certainly are not the biggest, physically. Gosh, I would take Louisville if we stood each 9 side by side.
OSU can play the best. College baseball about is about physical execution and mental focus, in my view. The gap between Fullerton and OSU is small but looks pretty big in Omaha.

Walker has been good all year but especially during the postseason.
I'm a big enough man to take my medicine. We played the absolute worst game we have played all year. I'm not taking anything away from OSU. They are a very good team and play a really good style of baseball. But, I can assure you tonight wasn't a fair representation of LSU baseball. Hopefully we will flush this one, get past FSU and get another crack at OSU. The outcome may not be any different, but I would like to think we would be more competitive. On another note, it was so very cool to see my son on the mound pitching in that atmosphere after all he has been through over the past couple of years.
Which one is your son as there were 8 pitchers? Im not familiar with who he is? Is he the fifth year red shirt they talked about ? That was cool story . i love getting to hear the players stories and getting to know some of them as you watch omaha each year .

LSU is good year in and out. Losing the starting pitcher maybe rattled the team some.

Son was the losing pitcher when he was in Omaha. We were #1 seed that year and we stunk. So I understand, however, this is something your son will always remember, in a good way.
And you will too. 
I started this topic ONLY because no matter what, seeing a HSBBWebster's son on the bump in Omaha was just awesome!

I don't really like either of those teams. OSU fans were the harshest, most difficult, most rude in the Pac12 through both sons. But Pat Casey pulled our younger son aside after the last time he pitched against them and said some incredibly nice things - so given that and the fact that they're from the Pac12 and given how much I strongly dislike UL, I guess I'll go with OSU if thats what it comes down too.

Tigers vs Beavers.....Is the game over? My wife and I turned the channel to watch HGTV (Home and Gardening Channel). Trust me, there was more going on with HGTV than the Tiger offense. That is a fact.

I think it speaks volumes about the abilities of the coach - to both recruit to that weather and to have a system that is so successful.
I said above that the fans are difficult - which is true - but that also makes it attractive to recruits. Their stadium culture and atmosphere is absolutely electric. Packed house, rabid fans, very nice venue. Very tough to beat them in their park. And their fans travel well too.
I also think that the state of Washington routinely produces pretty good players that often end up at OSU and CA kids started wanting to go to Oregon for school (baseball or not) about 15 years ago. Some of that is because of difficult admissions into the Univ. of Calif. system, some is due to Ducks football...but some is also undoubtedly due to Casey's program at OSU.

Fan, my son was the third pitcher, Nick Bush. He is a redshirt freshman and has rehabbed back from 2 back to back surgeries. He initially had ulnar nerve transposition surgery then UCL reconstruction. He is still struggling with control, but he did flash 92 last night with a couple other 91s. His velo is back, we just hope he can go off this summer and find his control, as that was his strong suit pre-injury.
TPM, no problem. Last night happens in baseball. I get it and have no issues with it. I've watched that team play 60+ games this year. No matter what happens the rest of our stay in Omaha, there is no doubt we belonged here. Hopefully we can get back to playing the way we have over the last 6 weeks. And you are correct, that memory last night I will cherish forever!
Enjoy your time there young gun - our son played there in 2008 (Stanford) and those are some of the very best memories in our lives. My wife and I were talking about that just last night.
Same son also had TJ in 2014. Velo came back (and rose) fairly quickly - command was another thing. Everyone in his organization at the time (Nationals) told him that was all normal. I'd say it was another year before command was decent again. Oh, he could throw strikes, he just couldn't stick the pitch where he wanted in the strike zone. He found if quite frustrating.
Good luck to your son - I think I missed that part of the game when he pitched.
LSU is my favorite college team so I was rooting for the Tigers. Oregon State played well but I'll remind everyone that LSU is still in it, and have shown time & time again this season that they are capable of incredible comebacks

The PAC 12 has four CWS championships in the past eleven years. Oregon State has two of them. OSU and the PAC 12 have nothing to prove. People just don't stay up late and watch so they're unaware.

You're not as good as your best game or as bad as your worst. One run or getting smoked the result is the same with a good team. Time to look towards the next game.

In 2006, OSU was the cinderella team. We were on same bus with some of the players one night, they felt they were being disrespected because people said they didnt belong there.
Ha Ha. They won the championship and have been among the elite since then.
We east coasters are just not as familiar due to time zones, and I agree that is why some arent aware.
I know that I will get beat up for this, but IMO SEC is the toughest conference and I expect LSU will fight back.
Can we agree that there is good baseball all over the country?
I live in GA and watch the ACC & SEC all the time but that doesn't mean that I can't appreciate the accomplishments of teams who don't play in those conferences.
I'm a fan of good baseball and the CWS is as exciting to me as any sporting event.
I agree with TPM that the SEC is probably the toughest conference in baseball. Power arms and power bodies. Just look at the physicality of some of the LSU players compared to Oregon...however look who won and has fielded one of the most dominating teams in college history? I don't think Bryce Fehmel threw a pitch over 90.
This is one of the reasons college baseball is so much fun to watch, particularly at the Regional and CWS level as you get to see so many of the top teams fielding radically different styles of baseball, I really am sad that Davidson did not make it through, and wished that CSF was not bracketed with OSU. To me this is the best time of the year for baseball. Congrats to Youngun's son, wow what an experience that must have been!
I spent 30 years watching Pac10/12 baseball - 8 of those years quite intensely. I've spent the last 3 years watching ACC baseball. I really don't see a difference...with the naked eye.
Historically though, the Pac12 has won nearly half of all of the CWS titles, far outpacing other conferences. The ACC has won 2 in the past 60 years. From my naked eye perspective, its not totally obvious why that is other than USC was completely dominant for so long.

He was fine. Its tough being out there, millions watching. He did his job, got the 3rd out.
This kind of what its like in proball, takes a while to shake off the nerves.
