Time for thankful reflection

I've mentioned here before, in some form or another, that our 2017 (and oldest) is headed to Amherst. My wife and I take him up in a week and before things get too hectic with packing and other last-minute stuff, I wanted to take a moment to again thank everyone here for all the helpful information and support we've had from HSBBW members along the way. We're all excited about the next step, which starts with a parent and first year players' meeting on Move In Day. What happens after that will be up to him, and whatever fortune brings him.

Now the journey continues for our 2019 and, perhaps, for our 2022.

Thanks again.

I'm very excited for K's next step. Your family had a long and difficult journey getting there, but he is in a great place getting a world class education and playing college baseball. His persistence got him there. The real work begins in a week. A tip of the cap to you and K.

Enjoy and don't be too sad, it's part of the process.

All kids are different, but you now have a basic understanding of the recruiting process and that is half of the battle.

Best of luck to K, Smoke. What an outstanding school for him.

We leave today with our 2017. I'm incredibly thrilled about the opportunities he has created for himself and excited about seeing him take advantage of them, and of course play baseball.

He is our youngest, and I confess I'm concerned about how empty the house will feel when we get home. We might have to get a puppy.

Good luck to K! Scott, you've done a terrific job guiding your son through the recruiting process, as well as offering guidance to me and others.

I'm sure he'll get along well with Coach Hamm and enjoy the town of Amherst.

Exciting time for you Smoke and your son. Now you get to go through the process again. Your contributions to the HSBBWeb are appreciated. PM me on the specifics once K settles in. Giving the school isn't far from me I hope we meet up some time. Just found up yesterday that a brother (2018) of a player on son's college team committed to Amherst earlier this week! As Cabbage mentioned..look for airfare deals early.
