HiddenDriver- Find professionals if you want good advice.. During off season, there are two things to work on for increased bat velocity...

One, swing mechanics... the other is strength/power. You can develop the strength/power (S/P) in various forms of resistance training... but make sure you choose the right "category" for your resistence training.. which is basically all three types; general, special, specific.

In short, General is traditional stuff... squats, deadlifts, bench press, rows, etc... Special is designed to develop power, once strength has been improved (snatch, clean and jerk, medicine balls, plyo's..)... Specifics wmimics actual game motions and their velocities... for HITTING, this can be used by using underweighted and over weighted baseball bats...

Don't use loads that are plus or minus 4 oz of game weight bat.... you are just wasting your time...
